In the summer, Kosta Boda shows a selection of Bertil Vallien's glass at Bosjökloster. The selection consists of decorative collectibles including series of "Vertical Journey" and "Brains" signed Bosjökloster 2020.
Bertil Vallien is perhaps Sweden's most famous glass artist and designer, with numerous awards and representations in many museums around the world. One of his first exhibitions after his education at Konstfack, Stockholm was at the Bosjökloster in 1963. It is therefore particularly nice that Valliens glass is again to be experienced here at the castle.
Bertil Vallien works with a mythical, dreamy and symbolic motif world and conducts what he himself describes as a research assignment, in close collaboration with his colleagues at the Kosta mill. He is especially known as the master of sand casting. His massive, deep blue boats are part of modern glass history.
