THE DROTTNINGHOLM BAROQUE ENSEMBLE was founded in 1971 by violinist Lars Brolin. The aim of the six original musicians was to play music from the 17th and 18th centuries on well-established, traditional instruments. Today the number of members has grown and the ensemble can present an orchestra with strings, winds, drums and timpani. Over the years, the Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble has had the opportunity to work and tour in a number of countries and continents, and many well-known artists and conductors have chosen to work with DBE.
STINA EKBLAD was born in Finland, studied at the Odense-Theatre-School from 1972-75 and came to the Stockholm City Theatre in 1980. There she took part in ‘As You Want It’ directed by John Caird. She has a passion for reciting poetry and in 1994 she compiled a CD with poems by Edith Södergran. In the autumn of 1998, she performed the well-known monologue from the Gospel of Luke in the Orion Theater and on tour.
