WINDS OF WAR
From Ladoga, Warsaw, Budapest
André Prah’s sculptures tell tales of what war can do to living beings. The plight, but also the hope born from acts of humanity and love.
These are stories about the Ice Horses of Ladoga, trapped in events beyond their control, and of Janusz Korczak, Irena Sendler and Raoul Wallenberg, individuals who defied evil with conviction, bravery and perseverance.
Creatures with nowhere to turn in the face of chaos, as in Curzio Malaparte’s description of horses frozen in ice in WWII Finland. Janusz Korczak and Irena Sendler through their struggle to shield and save Jewish children in the Warsaw ghetto. Raoul Wallenberg who clutched Jews from the jaws of death in Budapest.
André primarily works with wood that he finds along the shores of the Baltic Sea. Tree roots molded by forces of wind, water, salt and erosion.
Welcome to the Art & Culture Stable at Bosjökloster to see this unique exhibition.
